frequently asked questions
Q. When and where is a concert, event, contest, etc?
R. Check our online calendar on the website. We try to keep this up to date with information regarding times and locations of events, rehearsals, etc for the Seguin Choir students. If this doesn’t answer your question you can always contact us at the choir room (682)867-6803. We are often unable to answer the phone as we are in class teaching so an email is often the most efficient way to get in touch with us. Sometimes we have trouble with our email server so you may also want to use our gmail address seguinchoir@gmail.com to be sure the mail comes through. Our district email trinn@aisd.net or kzrust@aisd.net is always an option - but we make no guarantee that it won’t show up three days later after going through the spam filter
Q. How much money do I owe for choir fees, all-state, music, trip, etc...
R. The best way to keep track of fees owed to the choir department is through our online record system CHARMS. You can access this at www.charmsoffice.com our school code is JSeguinHSChoir. Once logged in use your students ID number to look at finances, forms owed, etc. If you have trouble logging in, contact Mr. Rinn and we’ll get it fixed!
Q. Do you need volunteers for choir events?
R. Yes, absolutely! We can use volunteers to help at events, take tickets, make phone calls, hem dresses, help with uniform check-out (this list goes on). Please consider joining our booster club to become involved in helping the organization. You can see specific volunteer needs by looking at the CHARMS calendar (wither via the website or by logging into CHARMS). If you see the icon on an event it indicates that we need volunteers. If you click this icon you will be able to sign-up to help. Please feel free to email Mr. Rinn or Ms. Zrust at anytime if you are willing to help out. With over 200 students, we need all the assistance we can get . Please visit http://www.aisd.net/departments/Volunteer.aspx to complete an AISD volunteer application (this must be done every academic year) as you must be an approved district volunteer to be on campus working with students.
Q. Why didn't I/my student get the solo, make the audition, get into a more advanced choir, etc...
R. With over 200 students in the choir program it becomes very difficult to choose students for small ensembles and solos. We take great care in every audition to select the best students while also working to give as many students opportunities as we are able. Our choir audition process if very transparent and takes into account many events that occur throughout the school year. You may see our audition process and scoring system in the DOWNLOADS section of the website. If you ever have any questions or want to discuss your progress, audition scores, or what you can do to get better, please make an appointment with Mr. Rinn & Mrs. Zrust. We are here to help you improve and will be glad to show you how you are doing.
