CHARMS
What is it and how do I use it?

CHARMS Link
Picture
Charms quite simply is the database software that all AISD music programs use to keep track of student data.  We keep track of fundraisers, activity fee payments, as well as music library and uniform check out.  Most importantly Charms stores your contact information so that we can stay connected to you, the parents and students of Seguin High School Choir.  In order for charms to work for us, so that you stay informed and up to date, you need to do the following:
Step One - Log Into Charms
When you click the charms link on the side of the page, a new tab will open directly to the charms login page.  Simply type in your students ID number in the box labeled "student area password".  Another screen may appear asking for a school code.  If it asks for this information, type jseguinhschoir
Step Two - Enter or Update Contact Information
Click the "update info" button at the bottom of the screen.  Enter ALL contact information including reliable phone numbers and email for the student and at least one parent.  Please make sure you use an email and phone number that you will check as this is the information we will use on regular correspondence. If this information is incorrect, you will miss something important.
Step Three - Click Save, and Explore
Once you have entered your information MAKE SURE you click save at the top of the screen.  One other item of interest in charms will be the financial report which will show all fundraiser activities as well as any activity fees that you will be responsible for during the year.
CALENDAR
You can keep up to date with Seguin Choir events through the Calendar tab located at the left of every seguinchoir.com webpage.
Reminder about Participation & Attendance:
As a member of the organization you will be expected to perform in class, concerts, extra rehearsals, and programs as scheduled by the directors. With the exception of Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Show Choir, choir classes do not require an extensive commitment to after-hour rehearsals. Students are given ample notice of scheduled events so that conflicts are minimal. As students continue their quest to be responsible adults and perfect the art of time management, it is their responsibility to inform parents, employers, coaches, sponsors, and other teachers of choir activities. Routine doctor appointments and/or a student’s job schedule will not serve as excused absences from activities. Outside rehearsals and concerts are part of the curriculum of the department and are REQUIRED as part of the grade for the course. Unlike academic classes, enrichment classes are performance based; therefore, it is impossible to make up missed classes, sectionals, and concerts. With prior permission from the director, a student may be excused for special school activities, however, it is expected that students make arrangements to be excused from regular practices that occur daily and schedule tutoring at alternate times to accommodate choir events/rehearsals that occur only periodically. In the case of an excused absence, the student is responsible for applicable make-up work for their required grade. Details of make-up assignments can be found in the grading policies in this handbook.
